Good Hair Days are EVERYTHING!

One can never underestimate good hair!

I firmly believe when a woman is having a good hair day, that they in fact have super powers! Truly! 

I defy any woman to say she feels completely fabulous if she's not having a "Good Hair Day!"  My characters live by the credo, "Who cares how you feel on the inside as long as you look fabulous on the outside," and I believe that can start from the top!  Hair!  

What is a good hair day?  It's when the red, blonde, black, brown, multi-color strands all seem to know which way to fall, move, curl, lay flat, braid, blend, wha'ever!  So yup, if you have a good soul and you do kind things for others and yourself and have your health and are laughing, life is good, but if you have all that ... and a good hair day, Ha'llooooo, you've got everything!

One's Standards may be low ... but....

Eve says that one's standards may be low, but one still has to live up to them!  

Live it up!   This Vanity Case is part of what I call my Vanity Reality Series as Even is based on a real person!

This character was based on someone I knew who always, but always wore a turban, dressed in starched, pressed and creased PJs all day and always wore very, very white kids!  She reminded me of Edie Beale of Grey Gardens, who I would learn about years later, but at the time, I just thought she was nifty, eccentric and too fabulous!

But she also reflected, one has to create their own personal standards and then live up to em!

PS... Sooooo sorry I've been remiss with adding new images and pithy observations!  Will do my best to pick up the pace and consistency!  I blame it all on my two divine kiddos with whom I find myself picking up after, working on homework and school projects, playing with and/ or just getting a kick outta' most of the time!

Who cares, it's nobody's business!

It's really true!

What other people think of us is really not any of our business as long as WE KNOW we are fabulous top-to-bottom and inside-out.  And seriously Dolls, that's what matters most!  Right?

This can mean anything to anyone, but to me it means being kind to other people every single day, which includes (in my humble vanity opinion) wearing make-up and just as importantly practicing random acts-of-kindess because it's the right thing to do and not because one is going to post it on Facebook or Twitter.  Gosh, there's nothing wrong with sharing a kind deed but the reward is always in the simplicity of doing it.  Don't you think?  

That's my Vanity Observation of the day.  Who says us Vanity Gals can't all be fabulous and deep at the same time?!  I decided to create this image as a card that can be customized for birthday, friendship, coping or get well, here, in this VanityGallery in the fab' cards section.   Air kisses until the next Vanity Reflection!

Life is fast soooo.....

Words to live by ... Really!

The one thing that is chanted over and over and (over) especially when one has children is, "It goes by sooooo fast"!  

Well, I ponder, does life go by fast, or is it a theory of relativity and as we get older a year becomes a smaller mathematical portion of one's overall life?!  And if it goes faster, how do you slow it down?  You don't, but this Bleached Blonde practicing Buddhist does her darndest to practice meditation and and being mindful and present.  I like to think of it as appreciating all the moments big, small, happy, good hair days, bad hair days, cranky, grateful, etc., etc.  

And to be sure, taking time for a little scent of Channel no. 5 or Happy combined with a medicinal teaspoon of cookie dough is something ya' have to build in to reveling in and really lingering in the simple luxe!!!

That's my lil' ol' Vanity Reflection of the day... I think I may have to create this image as a 5x7 print and offer in my EtsyVanityGallery!

Hi, it's me Tiffanee, Collene's spokesperson for these first weeks of summer when her kiddos have declared they will not give her a break!  Now Dahlings', it's not that I'm advocating drinking and eating fattening chips, but I have told her that a few chips and a glass a' wine can make the challenges of any day seem to melt away!  Consider that my lil' ol' chip of of inspiration!  Maawahhh and air kisses until the next time!

Smile even though your feet are killin' ya is my Vanity way of saying, we all have stuff we have to get through and you might as well smile through it!  I the expression, "Fake it until you make it!"  I think it holds true if you smile through a bad mood, before you know it, the bad mood is gone...and there's also nothin' wrong with wearing a fab' pair of shoes in any life crisis... It's got to be good for your sole... Don't you think?

What's on your mind/ fab' and funny woman humor for YOU!

When people ask where do I get ideas for my art, honestly, it's almost always from looking in the mirror (at this ever eroding face).  With Vanity as the nucleus of my woman-to-woman humor for my greeting cards or the prints in my Etsy Vanity Gallery, the ideas are almost always from something that has to do with my daily routine of puttin' on the fabulousness!  I know, I know, being fabulous comes from the inside, blah, blah, blah, but for me, it also comes from decorating the outside with requisite lipstick, powder and pearls!

So instead of looking into the mirror for a humor idea, what would YOU like to see in the form of a Vanity humor; what subject is on your mind?  Whether you are thinking of shopping, shoes, chocolate, good hair or bad hair days, yoga or wha'ever... leave a comment or email me and I'll see what I can come up with!

Think Pink - Monday Morning Blues

I can't say I feel the Monday blues but if I did, I would make certain I was properly accessorized with let's say a neck wrap that would play up the color!  Do YOU feel Monday morning blues and if so. I wonder if ya' thinked' pink, would it be better????

I truly believe these are words to live by!  Besides being my Vanity take on thinking positively, I do believe being understated is overrated ... at any age!

I recently posted this Woman Humor Print in my VanityGallery store on Etsy.  I'm having such fun creating Vanity Prints which are basically my Vanity characters with uplifting messages and humor for women of all ages who "get it!"

I'm quite delighted when a customer is delighted, as this was one, who sent me a photo of her recent Vanity Print from my EtsyVanityGallery!  I always include a simple, white mat, which makes for easy framing in a standard 8x10 frame.

This is sort of a little bit of a direction for which I'm going to interpret Vanity style!  I can envision using this "Keep Calm" adage in a variety of ways with different images and different subjects of focus with which to stay calm!  I'll post each one in my EtsyVanityGallery.  I think this will be ratha' fun... don't you!?

Vanity Prints

Vanity Prints as bauwthroom art!  Love it!

So my younger sister took a collection of my prints (of which many are available in my still new Vanity Gallery Etsy store and my VanityCases on-line store) and hung them in Dollar Store frames.  I think they make for a very fabulous bauwthroom collection!  

Hhmmm.  I really should bump some of the collections of my kiddo's art and replace with mine!  But then again, there's something about seeing their little lines, colors and text that makes my heart happy!  Okay, we need more wall space, okay, we need more walls... okay!

Vanity Reflection...

I think this Vanity reflection pretty much says it all...don't you?  

A bit of confidence, good friends and whatever vanity vice gets ya' through the day can make you feel like you can do anything!  What more do you really need?  (I mean besides a fabulous shoe and a box of chocolates?)

Chocolate Wisdom Bookmark...for you!

Bout' time don't you think for a little fab' freebie?!  I've posted a bookmark with lotsa' room to make notes.  I offer a selection of bookmarks in my on line Vanity store, which can be a fab' little item to enclose in a birthday, coping or friendship card.  The quantity and quality is wonderful but I also think if you print the images I've posted here, on card stock paper, they will be fun n' fab as well!

Almost all art in my Vanity Store is customizable and I'm always happy to do special theme / image requests at no extra charge!  Take a little break n' escape and look through my line of items that speak the language of Girlfriendease, which is really just communication between fabulous friends!  

Being understated is overatted!

I love what this character is saying, "I have bursts of thinking I should be more understated; Thank Gad they pass!  Soooooooo true!  No matter one's age, a little "icing" on any ensemble makes one look and feel great, or as I like to say, "Never underestimate the power of a hot pink feather boa!"
