The formula for creating greeting cards that sell!

So, I'm still new to Youtube & my channel, but in this one, I'm trying to say, if you praise the recipient AND the sender of a greeting card, you are more likely to have a successfully selling card!  Come on by my VanityGallery on Etsy, to see what I mean, or just to have a laugh with my pithy, women humor greeting cards!

Don't make me beg, but gosh, it would be fab if you "liked" any of my videos or subscribed to my channel!  In the meantime, air kisses until the next post!

The Right Shoes can Change Everything!

A new point of view can be that simple!

Looking at things with a new point of view can be as simple as changing the shoes you're standing in! Really,   Change the shoes, change the view, change the perspective!

That's my lil' ol "soleful" Vanity Reflection for the day!

Life is fast soooo.....

Words to live by ... Really!
The one thing that is chanted over and over and (over) especially when one has children is, "It goes by sooooo fast"!

Well, I ponder, does life go by fast, or is it a theory of relativity and as we get older a year becomes a smaller mathematical portion of one's overall life?!  And if it goes faster, how do you slow it down?  You don't, but this Bleached Blonde practicing Buddhist does her darndest to practice meditation and and being mindful and present.  I like to think of it as appreciating all the moments big, small, happy, good hair days, bad hair days, cranky, grateful, etc., etc.

And to be sure, taking time for a little scent of Channel no. 5 or Happy combined with a medicinal teaspoon of cookie dough is something ya' have to build in to reveling in and really lingering in the simple luxe!!!

That's my lil' ol' Vanity Reflection of the day... I think I may have to create this image as a 5x7 print and offer in my EtsyVanityGallery!

My personal opinion is that  one can read the classics (I've ready many) and one could get lost in historic and golden Hollywood age biographies (I have a million), but there is nothing, I mean at times nothing like the tabloids!  I think of them as junkfood for the brain and truly believe they should be part of the nutrion pyramid for anyone who needs a little mental relief in their days!

And truly, when people say they don't read them, I would love to have a "spy camera" on when they are in a waiting room and there are copies of People, The National Inquirer, Star and / or US magazine!  Uh huh!

That's my lil' ol Vanity thought of the day!  (It's vanity because if it makes you feel good, natch', it will make you look good!  Collene

Which way please... FoRwArD!!!!

As someone who balances building their business (working from home) with being a full time Mom E. Person of two young girls, (is there such a thing as a part-time Mom?) I confess I can too often feel  like a cat chasing my tail and like I'm going in circles!   And speaking of cats, in addition to creating art for my on-line stores, (The Vanity Gallery & my Vanity Cases)  I empty the kitty litter of our two cats daily.

Yup, cat litter is just one of a millionty things I've learned to streamline in the limited time my girls are in school and when I have time to myself in the studio.  When the girls are home, my work day is essentially over and it becomes devoted to helping my 9 year old with homework, driving her to-and-from play dates and/ or activities or of course doing something together as well as being shadowed by my 4 year old, which usually ends up with us playing Plah-doh or coloring... both quite good therapy actually!

But in those moments where I'm in a race with my tail or essentially time to be productive,  I remind myself, that if I'm moving forward,  I'm going in the right direction.  As long as we move forward, forward, forward, we'll end up somewhere in the vicinity of our goals!  Right???!!!! This is where it's key, even if you feel like you are lying and I'm insane, that you tell me, yes, move forward and you will get to reach many of your [work] goals!

What is quite ironic i that on the most frazzled of days I'll do some doodle as a "release" and jot down some observation that will eventually become material for my art!  So see, even when one is feeling a bit crazed, it can be productive.  Right?  (Remember, it's key to say yes!)

Oh and on the days when I get NO work done but have been with my Two Looney tunes, my Ladybug and my Daisy, my inhale and my exhale, I don't even have to remind myself so much as simply look at them to know, that to be with them, I'm the luckiest person in the world and it was time well spent!

This is a wordy way of sharing how I come up with ideas like the sketch and text in this post ... as well as a way to vent a bit that like most working Moms, I'm just doin' the best I can!

Never underestimate the power of a pink feather boa!
